Sri Krsnadasa Kaviraja Goswami is the author of Sri Caitanya-caritamata.He was born in 1496 in a Nadiya family of physicians at the village of Jhamatpur, within the district of Barddhaman, near Naihati. His father was Sri Bhagiratha, and his mother was Sri Sunanda. He had a younger brother named Syama Dasa. The deity of Gaura-Nityananda was installed by Sri Kaviraja Goswami is still being worshiped in Nadiya.
Sri Krsnadasa Kaviraja Goswami had been living with his family in Katwa, a small town in the district of Burdwan in Bengal. His family also worshiped to Radha-Krsna.
He was a disciple of Raghunatha Dasa Gosvami and Sril Rupa Goswami, a confidential follower of Caitanya Mahaprabhu's
Sri Krsnadasa Kaviraja Goswami compiled the following books: Sri Govinda-lilamrta, Krsna-karnamrta commentary (Saranga-rangada kangada tika) and of course, Sri Caitanya-caritamrta.
Sri Krsnadasa Kaviraja Goswami ended his past time in 12th day bright fortnight month of Asvin (the year is not known).
