Aha Ki Dekhi Go Badai

Aha Ki Dekhi Go Badai

Govinda Das Kaviraj has written this song “Aha Ki Dekhi Go Badai”. This song is taken from the book Padavali. In this song, Govinda Das Kaviraj describes the beautiful scene of Srimati Radha and Lord Krishna, enjoying their divine pastimes, that enchanted his heart.

(1)
aha ki dekhi go bada-i kadambera tale
tadita jadita yaiche naba jaladhare

(2)
syamacandera upare dhabala candera kala
tahara upare sobhe timirera mala

(3)
tahara upare kiba indradhanu saje
emana adbhuta rupa keba dekhiyache

(4)
indradhanu jiniya se bhuru dhanu-chata
gobinda-dasera mana kare latapata

(1) Aha! What did I see under a kadamba tree? It was like a new raincloud embraced by lightning.

(2) It was like a glistening white full moon above a dark new moon. Above those two moons glistened a garland of darkness.

(3) Above that garland was a rainbow. What was that wonderful form I saw?

(4) The effulgent archer's bows of that form's eyebrows defeated the rainbow. That form enchanted Govinda dasa's heart.
