Tomar Carana Padma Anuraga

Bhaktivinod Thakur, Tomar Carana Padma Anuraga, Hari Krishna

Bhaktivinod Thakur has written this song “Tomar Carana Padma Anuragaā€¯. The official name of this song isYamuna Bhavavali Song 14. This song is taken from the book Gitamala. Bhaktivinoda Thakura says that one drop of nectar of Hari Krishna’s love is enough to drive away all the sins and miseries. After drinking the sweet nectar we get free from the blaze of material fire. We immediately get liberation and peace of mind. But how unfortunate of us that we are trapped in maya and we ignore the nectar of Lord Krishna’s love and due to this our life is wasted.

(1)
hari he
tomara carana-padma anuraga sudha-sadma
sagara-sikara jadi paya
kona bhagyabana jane kona karya-sangatane
ta'ra saba duhkha dure jaya

(2)
se sudha-samudra-kana somsaragni-nirbapana
khanete koriya phele ta'ra
parama nibrtti diya tomara carane loya
deya tabe ananda apara

(3)
e bhaktibinoda kande podiya somsara-phande
bole nahi kona bhagya mora
e ghatana na ghatilo amara janama gelo
brtha roinu ho'ye atma-bhora

(1) Oh my Dear Lord Hari! If a greatly fortunate soul, somehow or other, gets a chance to drink just one nectar-drop sprayed from the rich ocean of love emanating from Your lotus feet, then all of his miseries are automatically and instantly repelled to a far distant place.

(2) This single drop from the ocean of nectar completely extinguishes the blazing fire of material existence and gives immediate relief. One who drinks such a drop thus takes hold of Your lotus feet, which bestow upon him transcendentally liberated peace and unlimited spiritual bliss.

(3) Now Bhaktivinoda is weeping and says to You, Oh Lord… I am most unfortunate, falling into the snare of this material world. I have never taken a drop of the nectar of Your lotus feet, and therefore my entire life has been wasted, uselessly engrossed in the affairs of this material body.
